Thanks guys. Here's the story behind my car. Kinda long so sorry in advance.
My father and I bought a 69 fastback 10 years ago and started working on it together. Never worked on cars before so this was the car I learned on. 2 years into the rebuild and a few weeks before completion he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung caner and passed away shortly after. The mustang sat for years under a flimsy car cover. I couldn't bring myself to work on it without him.
Years passed and I got engaged and as we were in the photographers office he asked where we wanted to take our pictures. I said anywhere except on a beach or something like that. My finance suggested we finish the mustang and take pictures with it to include my father in the wedding in nov 2012. I was excited to finally finish the car after all these years.
When I uncovered the car I found out that the car cover had holes and leaked water into the mustang and rusted it horrifically. The car was in worse shape than when my father bought it. I decided at that point to do a full rotisserie restoration and replace everything.
For the next 6 months I replaced and rebuilt everything. I decided to do a restomod and give it a little taste of modern parts and upgrades. It took every last ounce of blood, sweat and tears I had but I finished it in time for the wedding and we got our pictures.
Since then I have brought it to a few local car shows and my story will be published in an upcoming issue of Modified Mustangs & Fords. I look at the mustang and think about how proud my father would be of me and how one day in the future I will teach my son how to work on cars with this mustang just like his grandfather did with me.
