Hi been joining nothing but groups it seems lately. Looking to buy one last? fun car. The point is to learn more about newer cars. Most of my stuff has been old school. This should be the way to get up to date, as it seem this is a knowledgeable and helpful group. With that said , I'm looking at a 96 mystic from MI what should I be asking to make sure it will pass NY emission testing. thanks

welcome aboard! A '96 should have no problem with emissions unless it's radically altered (like no cats).

Thanks every one still getting used to the whole forum deal. I should have been more specific. The mystic is supercharged with other mods. It's on corral. The cats are the major issue?
I'm thinking(that's trouble) that anything missing egr, pumps, O2 , stuff like that causes problems. It sure was easier when lick and stick ruled.
