need tire suggestions

so i picked up a gigantic screw today and need to replace a tire but not doing just 1

i have 17/9 fr500's so i can go larger then stock but i am looking for best tire/size reccomendations and price is a factor but willing to pay for good rubber just not a ridiculous price

any thoughts?

I am real happy with Nitto 555 Extremes which at the time was there top "summer high performance" tire (not a DR or road course race tire). Not sure what they are called now. They come in 285/45/17 which should fit your rim and hopefully your fender (don't know what you drive), in the front you will probably need to go 275/45/17.

it's an 02 gt vert i have heard of people going as big as 315? on a 9 inch rim little excessive to me but hey. i have 245/45/17 on there now and was thinking about sticking with that in the front and going wider in the rear. at best i might make a couple of passes at the strip in the future but no autocross or anything else intended.

i have nexen n3000 tires now but they suck

315's on a 9' rim may be pushing it. I would go by the manufacture's site. I suspect they will all say 10" or wider

keep in my mind nittos run small.you might want to go with 265's up front and 295's in the rear

the 315's wont fit on the 9'' rim. or at least thats what im told. im stickin with the 285 40 17's untill i can find a 10.5'' rim that i like so i can get the fat ass fred flintstone 315's!!

245 is small for a 9". most run at lesat a 255, or 275. get 275's all around if you want to rotate. if not, get a 255 front and 285 rear. or if you like some buldge, get a nitto 315 rear. nitto's run small, and will fit with some bulging.

315 will fit a 8" wheel, question is how well will it fit it

i think thats about where i may end up is with 255 up front and 285 out back decided i am going to probably end up with drag radials after my slip and slide at spencer this weekend
