need help with 84 v6 with cpi

some times my car will not start. I have to pour gas or starting fluid down in the cpi to get it to start. Any thought on what i should do to fix it

yes i did and it still does it. i replaced the fuel pump relay under the dash and hard wired the one under the drivers seat. Some times it starts and some time it does not.
