I don't know how the 86 and older dashes are to take out, but the 87-93 dashes require some time to get them out. Nothing really too hard about it other than bagging and tagging all of the screws you take out so you know where they go back. The 87-93 also use a lot of Torx screws, but again, I'm not sure about the 86 and older. I had to take the dash out to change the heater core, and you should think about doing that too while you're there, unless you blocked off the heater. For mine I had to take the shifter out, center console, drop the steering wheel, hvac controls out, glove box door off, gauges out (speedo gear isn't long enough to leave the gauges in), the gauge pod with the head light switches, and a load of screws had to be taken out, lol.
