my hood open driving in the highway

yesterday coming back home my car started dying on me so i open the hood to see what was wrong after being unable to fix anything i drove to the highway going home and my freaking hood open. it dindt break the windshield but thw cowl piece between the hood, and the windshield broke, and worse the area between the hood, and the windshield twisted. I was wondering if this is fixable, how fixable, and how much would it cost to fix??? since if is too much I would post the car up for sale

Did the windshield break or not? One part you said it didn't break and the next you said it did break. Did the hood get damage or twisted at all? We need some pics.

no not the windshield, the windshield is fine, and also the hood i believe

he has an aftermarket fiberglass hood- Ive never seen a properly latched OEM hood fly up.

Well, that explains the damage that I found on my Mustang. Yes it is fixable. It is a pain in the ass.

i think you should try and get an estimate on it, i am sure it cant be too expensive.....

Maybe I just want an excuse to put my Ford Racing hood pins on that have been sitting in the package for over a year in my garage without getting made fun of.

Well good luck with it either way. I got my windows tinted today and on the way back to school, my hood starting lifting up, so I had to pull over quickly and close the hood. The guys at the tint place apparently looked under my hood and never closed it all the way... :nono:

Fiberglass hoods aren't worth fixing....it'll cost you as much or more to just get a new one.
