Called the company on ebay about getting an extra pintle cap. Told them id be willing to pay since it was my fault. They are shipping me 2 extra caps for free. Silvershot_Platinum is the sellers name on ebay, definitely a good company to do business with. They should be here any day now. Got some stomach bug yesterday and that has slowed me down, buried in school work. Once i get caught up i will be back to the car.
You will. Mainly due to the fact i hit a financial wall. I need some of my tax cash to finish this. Due to the fiscal cliff everyone claiming tuition fees cant file till mid february. Thanks government. I need to get out to pick and pull to rip apart an exploder to get the roller lifter hold down and spiders for the 351w. Make a date of it with laura. She likes ripping this stuff apart.

The old harmonic balencer is cracked, no sense in putting that back on so i need a new 28 oz one. Also need to get a new distributor and replace the gear still. I have been shopping around for the new pushrods in 7.950 length and trick flow has them for $119.
Tomorrow morning i will do some more work on removing old stuff from the engine.

Anyone know why the coolant rail for the heater core works on my 302, but when i take it to line up with the 351W intake (Gt-40) it hits injector #1. DO i need a coolant rail off of a explorer or truck??
Also found out the 351w truck fuel rail wont work, very different, will have to remove my 302 rail and extend it.
Looking good man. Not sure what the connector goes to, my car is in storage right now so I have nothing to look at. The coolant line hits probably because the 351 intake is wider and the injectors sit out farther. I doubt the explorer lines will work, maybe you can google what people do for lines for the 351s.

Also noticed the pic below with the distributor gear. The 351W shaft is larger than the 302 shaft so that gear won't work. Make sure you use a steel gear with the TFS cam. A cast iron gear will get you in trouble fast.

Thanks for the info on the gear, it was off Cledus's old black sunshine 302 distributor. I am going to have to purchase the correct one, still have to buy a new distributor as all mine are either remote mount or junk.
I am also looking for a roller lifter hold down (kit) if anyone has one they want to unload. Need the hold down, all spiders and the two bolts that attach it. I really dont want to tear my old 302 apart, just want to sell it for a rebuild.
Ok thanks for checking on the rods. Consider the roller kit sold! I also want the gear and pin too. But i still have to buy the new (well prolly reman) dizzy. I have the remote mount that came with this engine will the shaft diameter be the same on all 351w dizzy's? Or should i buy the reman and measure?
i am in the process of putting together a 351 for my 89 coupe right know as u are doing i am slowly piecing it together lol. but the reason i am replying is that i have the 302 in my coupe that will be coming out as soon as the weathers starts to warm up. if ur not in a hurry i would sell you the hold down and dog bones pretty cheap. you do know you can use the 302 hold down and dog bones right?.....

im in the process of putting a 351 in my 89 coupe right now. i am too slowly pieceing it together. the 302 i will be pulling out has good dog bone's and hold down if you want i could sell it pretty cheap and ship if neccesary, but i wont be working on it until it gets warm. just let me know u can hit me up @2566471910
