2002 gt manual...to 2002 gt auto.


how hard or pita would the conversion be from a manual to an auto?

are the engines the same?

any differences?

from my accident in march i kept the car...my frame was twisted however transmission (auto) and engine both with 40k on them are untouched. i found a roller with blown transmission (manual) and blown engine and want to put my stuff onto that.

I cannot say for that year.

I did a manual to auto conversion in a 95 a few months ago. Not a big deal at all. The only thing that was different was the computer, so I went with a Bauman stand alone computer.

The car now has an anderson PMS stand alone engine management and a bauman tranny stand alone.

The drive shafts are the same, the trans mount fit perfect (actually better than the 5 sp). The tunnel needed slight BFH modifications to fit the ratchet shifter.

The biggest pain in the ass, was getting the 2 top bell housing bolts in along with the bracket. You have to use the force since you can't see shit!!.

If you are tranferring it over. Not a problem at all. Just swap it.

use your auto pedals and computer and all will be good.

ok thank you. i plan on using the computer from the totaled one. would it still pass inspection since it has a different computer?

Yep. the computer just reads the sensors. If they are all good, then you will pass.

What about the 12v connector for the transmission? For the shift solenoids?
And the MLPS connector/pigtail.
Don't forget to put the ground wire back on!
