you couldn't be more wrong. my car made a big gain in mid range power as well as 17 hp at peak. long tube headers will always make more power than shorties and especially more than stock manifolds, no matter if you n/a or f/i, 2v or 4v.

But What will be needed for a tune....Anything....I have a SCT Xcal3 tunner but I purchased it from AM...Will I still be able to get a mail order tune from theme for the Mac long tubes even though they don't sell Mac products?????

i would say so, but call up and ask to be sure. my car didn't need much adjustment to the tune, just a little fuel up top

i was talking to the guy who helped design my software "delta force" and the only adjustment that is really made with long tubes is the location of the O2s. Since the extra flow from exhaust is adjusted by the MAF. Honestly Todd, whatever you do, get a wideband setup and tune the fuel yourself. My old track times was a 14.6@98 with my pi swap,LT's, O/R H, TB and sniper special forces tune (its a canned tune even though it adjusts for your mods like any canned tune). After I did gears and fine tuned the car with a wideband and data-logging I ran a 13.4@104.... Im sure the 4.10s helped out a lot but not the whole thing, fine tuning gave me a huge boost in torque, between dynos I had 245/275 to 253.x/292.x with the gears, UDP and a fine tune....

Long tubes + pro-chamber = power upstairs. Or long tubes with high flow cats. Otherwise, not much of a gain. The sound is also awesome. :headbang:

The stage 8 header bolts are a "locking" bolt. They work great for stoping your header bolts from loosening over time. Be sure to shop around. I paid $85 for a set from Stage 8, but they can be found for half that price.

Damn Ryan, I need a tune.

I ran my 14.1@98 with just my stage II ported PI heads and PI intake, LT's & hflo cats. Still running stock '96 npi tune, 3.27 gearing & TB.

Can't wait to see what I can get with new TB, 24# injectors, 3.73's and a good tune.:awesomework:
