I have read a lot of info on my options between twin screw, centrifical and turbo. I am leaning more towards a twin screw, because I don't want any sudden boost without warning. I drive on the street and maybe after this year I will get some tack time. All replys are opinions only, lets not make it into "mine is the best because I have it" and crap like that please. This is going to be for everyone else who is on the fence about what to go with.

Wicked you want or dont want sudden boost... A twin screw will be instant power basically because it is belt driven... A procharger is a mix of both a turbo and a supercharger because it is belt driven... I dont think I am telling you anything you dont know but... If you dont want any sudden power a P1sc procharger is a great option... You dont hit boost right away and you can keep the slightly good gas milage we have...
I really dont like turbos on stangs... It is a pain in the arse and you have to get rid of your Lt's if you have any... Turbos are a great source of power but they are becoming overrated with the need for speed fab...

I am very partial to a D1sc procharger because of the amount of boost you can have and it is different... Unfortunately a procharger wines a bit a idle so you wont sound stock anymore...

Twin screw = instant power band
Procharger = sexy sounding good gas and easy install..
Turbo = pain in the ass....

cough cough procharger...

Well Gregg, I am guessing you don't want an all out track car. I am also guessing you don't want to build your motor, seeing as though you have under 10k on the clock. I don't understand the "sudden boost without warning" statement though. Boost is always dependant upon the throttle. You will never be in boost unless you want to be. With that said it depends where you want your boost, up top or down low. If you want the quick boost/low end grunt, go with a twin screw or roots style. If you want the power up top, go with a centrifugal or turbo. Although turbos typically yield more hp and are the most efficient, they tend to be more expensive. I don't think you are trying to get every last horse out of your car so I would recommend a supercharger. You just have to figure out where you want the extra horsies.

thanks guys. Budget isn't really a problem. It is what is best for my application. By me stating the sudden boost, I was referring to what I have read about turbos. I could be wrong, but I interpreted it as they come on sudden, not without warning, but hard core and quick. I have narrowed down my choices between:

1) Edelbrock s/c
2) kenne bell
3) pro charger with intercooler

That is what I have. I am looking for real life tests. Thanks guys. procharger seems to be the choice of a street car.

go edelbrock or kenne bell. edelbrock b/c that thing is pure sex in its raw form and kenne bell because ive heard nothing but good things

Although I am a turbo guy, I have to agree with Scott99snake, go with the Twin Screw.
It is a good balance of price, power and EASE of install.

i have the roushcharger in mine and as far as street driving it is excellent. if you need to get going in a hurry just step on it a little and she will fly. as far as bringing it to the track i would probably get stomped by someone with a kenne bell. it pushes about 5 psi of boost, which isnt really much. the directions make the install pretty smooth and they will re-calibrate your pcm for the charger. roush also picks up the warranty on the drivetrain if you're still under warranty that is. there are a lot of options out there though.

I am leaning towards the twin screw edelbrock. I was hoping to have it already, but other bills had to be paid first. I also like the edel, because of the looks. I am stil gathering all the info I can. Thanks guys.

I had a centrifical and it was good to go but I switched to a kenne bell, its like driving a whole new animal. TWIN SCREW.:awesomework: You will get instand boost with a twin screw so if you don't want that then rock a turbo. Turbos will make you some mean power.:rock:

Kenne Bell or a Whipple. I am sure you will get the power gains you are looking for.

hi wicked thanks for info about this site. I have the procharger p1sc1, intercooler, did all work myself had it dyno tuned. The FI works good below boost levels. When you want to put your foot into it boost comes quick. Traveling from Plattsburgh to Springfield Mass, staying at 70 get about 20 mpg. LTH and xpipe w/magnaflow mufflers sounds good not too harsh.

I would drop the roush, it needs to be bored out before it can even campare to the top two. I am not sure on the edelbrock, don't know anyone with one and I have not read about them.

OK, so no roush, and I just found out that the edelbrock one is crapping the bed also.

So now I have either a KB or whipple.

Great, now lets start price shopping.
