longer gears help

so whats up with them 2.73's? i dont feel they hurt its performance to much,,it just doesnt get traction in first

Normally you will pickup anywhere from .3-.5 in the 1/4 with them. I think out of stock gears 3.27 are the best. I could still hit 137-140 in 4th with them, I don't care to lose my license so I never got that fast anymore anyways. I know going from 2.73 to 3.27 was worth .3 in 1/4 in my cousin's 89 GT. 14.2 to a 13.9 and still had plenty of top end.

my shit runs a 15.00 flat at 100mph, LOL ,whats 3 tenths hahahahaha,i feel like 1st 2nd and 3rd all accel at the same rate,3rd is my best gear power gear,5th is the most fun,,around town is nice cause i only use 1st and 2nd,what gears r u running the 3.73?

If you're having that much of an issue even with second gear, have you consider maybe there is an issue with your suspension setup? I went through the same thing 2 years ago and while not superaccurate absolute basis, on a relative basis, I improved 0-60 mph from 5.4 sec to 3.9 sec on the street as measured via a gtech meter through correcting some issues with the rear suspension.
Just a suggestion.
What kind of setup do you have?

theres no issue, i like that it has no traction,i run dealership freebies anyway so i rarley get a good set of tires,but i never pay for them, hahahaa i measured my 1/4 mile with a g-tech,everything is fine with suspension atleast i think,shockes r good and it handles both ways well,altho i do need an alighnment
