Line lock install tips needed.

Anybody have any tips on installing a B&M line lock kit in a fox mustang? I had the kit for 2 years brand new in the box and i am scared to install it myself. LOL. Any pic out there to help me out? Much appreciated. Thanx

i don't have a fox or a b&m kit but the slp kit in my gt was a piece of cake. if you can un hook a brake line, bleed brakes and wire a switch you'll be all set

Make sure you put the solenoid BETWEEN Master Cylinder the proportioning valve. The rearmost line on the master cylinder controls the front brakes. If your solenoid has a single line in and 2 out just use one and plug the other off. That way it will still let the proportiong valve do it's job and ensure equal distribution to the two front brakes.

Also, the solenoids can burn up the switch if they are held too long. I like to add a relay to help keep max amperage at the solenoid to extend it's life and the life of the switch. See below.

12V fused constant from battery to terminal 30 on relay.
Chassis ground to terminal 85 on relay.
12V switched power to switch.
Wire the other side of switch to terminal 86 on relay.
Terminal 87 on relay gets wired to 12V wire on Line Lock Solenoid. (Either wire is fine as solenoid is bi-polar)
Other wire of solenoid goes to chassis ground.

Using this method will ensure that you will have no electrical problems with the system and that the solenoid is getting full amperage instead of what the switch will allow.

I have mine hooked up to a spdt switch and use my cruise control off button to activate. I just flip the switch over and cruise works as normal. I also installed an LED to the solenoid itself, this way I know that it is working.
