jared88 is right, get the 1 3/4 if you're going to supercharge it. Don't forget American Racing Headers. Made right down the street in Amityville and they fit like a glove! 
:imwithstupid: You cannot go wrong with either American Racing or Kooks. I'm going American Racing w/ their catless X-pipe in the future...You will not be disappointed with either choice!
I am not sure many people know this but the company Accufab same guys that make the throttle bodies also builds headers. I am having a set built for my 68 now. They are the only people I could find to build a big tube set of headers to fit my car. Very nice people to deal with!

Example is a '93 LX that runs at my track. He was running 9.6@141 with MAC 1 5/8 shorty headers, 2 1/2 ProChamber, and a Dynomax Super Turbo 2 1/2 catback...
SUPER sleeper other than the Vortech...American Racing are nice headers, my friend had some on his '04 GT0.
Technically with a SC you don't need as large a header as with say a built NA car. With an NA car you need the scavenging effect more so.

If you want to get technical, optimum primary tube and collector size should be determined by many factors i.e engine displacement, usable rpm's, hp and exhaust port size. Tubes that are too small or too large are equally detrimental to performance. Shorter tubes make more power in high rpm ranges and longer tubes are just the opposite. Scavenging is actually performed by the merge collectors, not the tubes. Too small can choke off an engine and too large can slow down exhaust scavenging, pulling less air through. Sometimes these factors can only be determined through trial and error on a dyno.
