Being Ken Block certainly has its perks. In addition to being a world-renowned rally racer with legions of fans and the star of such popular motorsports videos like Gymkhana 1 through 3 (which looked like a blast to make), Block gets to drive some of the fastest and coolest cars on the planet Earth. Actually, scratch that; Ken Block gets paid to drive some of the fastest and coolest cars on Earth. Does life get any better than that?
Only if you’re Ken Block. As thanks for his hard work and dedication to the Ford brand, the Blue Oval gifted Block with a 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor pickup truck. Not one to leave well-enough alone, Autoblog reports that Block went ahead and blacked-out the whole truck from front to back. Can you say “badass?”
This is no quickie paintjob though, but rather a very cleanly done vinyl wrap that preserve’s the Raptor’s original paint, but allows for a much meaner look. Sure, all the Raptor and SVT badges appear to have been replaced, but this is still one of the most recognizable trucks on the market right now.
It doesn’t appear as though the 6.2 liter V8 engine has had any work done (why not a supercharger?) though this off-roading brute still packs plenty of punch to tackle the sand dunes and mudpits. Still, we were expecting a bit more…flair, from Mr. Block. This Raptor, while no doubt badass looking, isn’t exactly the attention grabber that Block’s other rides are. Maybe this is just the first step of many?
