Keep the plates when car is in storage?

How many of you keep your plates / insurance on your mustangs when you store them? I spoke to my insurance agent and was told it would cost me about the same to re register my car each year. Right now I'm paying $305/6 months.

Any thoughts?

State Farm has a program to take your car "out of us" so that you do not have to turn in the plates!

I currently have Barrett-Jackson & the plates stay on year round...

I currently have Barrett Jackson collector's insurance.

Its $400 / year for my Cobra. FULL everything and I keep my plates!!!

I wasn't aware you could get storage insurance. I will have to look into that. Thanks for the info.

Again, I was not aware Barrett Jackson offered such insurance. I will be very busy on Monday to see what I can do to lower my insurance.

Thanks everyone for the information on various types of insurance. I have to agree that I also hate DMV:smash: and will do almost anything to avoid going there.

You can store ur car turn in the plates and than suspend ur insurance

I have my car on non-driver status. 150 bucks for the winter, and I keep my plates.
