i have 2003 mustang gt front mount intercooled with vortech superchager and tial blow off valve .i got the car tunned by a shop that doesnt deal with alot of mustangs so i wasnt happy with the tune .i am losing 3 pounds of boost because im running a front mount intercooler .what boost pully should i get next ? . or should i just go to a speed shop that deals with mustangs an have them do there job ?

First a few questions for you. What kind of intercooler are you running and what size pulley? How much boost does the car make? I ask because I was losing 3-5 PSI with my old CX Racing intercooler before I switched to a Treadstone. Made a huge difference, big enough where I didn't have to touch the pulley.

Just because you lost boost doesn't mean you lost HP. The air is denser now because it's cooler. Did you run it on a dyno and have it tuned? I have a vortech V3 and some boltons, headers & exhaust, throttle-body, upper intake, 363rwhp & @430hp at the crank. These motors don't handle much more than 425 - 450 hp with a stock bottom end. You are probably pretty close to that now.
Correct, but a properly sized intercooler shouldn't have that much of a drop. Garrett recommends 1-1.5 psi pressure drop.
I agree with checking for leaks, a leaking connection could account for the drop.
I disagree with a different pulley. If an improperly sized inter-cooler is his problem, by over driving the blower, he will be adding more heat to the air, that the inter-cooler is improperly sized to transfer.
I am not familiar with the ETS units, but a quick google of their products brought up mainly units for smaller displacement motors such as evo, srt, etc. How big is this unit? HxWxD??

you need to take it a step at a time check for leaks,dont know much about ur cooler could be more restrictive than some of the well know units. you said you was losing boost but you didnt mention if the car felt like less power your going to notice 3 lbs of boost on. i agree with the rest of the guys dont change the pulley on the stock motor. you could just take the cooler off
I agree, troubleshoot it in a sequence. Perhaps a bad weld? If all of your couplings look good then perhaps pull the tank off and pressure test it. It all depends on how far you want to go with the troubleshooting.

dan at real speed is a great person , he gave me the options. took his time looked at everything ,drove the car with his labtop pluged in and taught me alot that i didnt know about my car .i am taking the car for him this saturday to start the work . thank you guys i will let u know what happens . an will have pictures when im all done .
