2003 mustang gt no cats an no check engine codes , i have a hand held tunner .i read with the tunner it should trick the commputer is this true an how do you do this? it keeps failing for the cats
i believe you need 'mil eliminators' to prevent the sensors fro throwing codes to the computer. the tuner , again i believe, can only turn off rear O2's, and the car will usually fail.
i hear the mil eliminators do the trick im currently having the same issues with my 96 cobra, you cant just shut them off because the system will never be "ready".
Plug-in MIL eliminators will shut off the annoying Check engine light and improve performance. MIL which is short for Malfunction Indicator Light Eliminator shuts off CELs by blocking the codes generated by the rear O2 sensors when running an off road mid-pipe or some mid-pipes with ultra high-flow cats.
Keep in mind that even MIL eliminators will not help you pass inspection if the shop does a visual inspection of the exhaust. As soon as they see no cats under there they'll fail you. I'm not really sure how many shops do this either but I've heard of it happening.
Last year, I almost bought a Stang that had a Procharger, off-road H pipe, MILs and the whole nine yards. It failed all the way back to the seller. LOL
