Rare ROUSH Mustang Goes for a Swim

“Attrition” is the term that car collectors use to describe the inevitable loss cars through events like accidents, theft, and acts of God. So when Hurricane Irene hit, any car owner with half a lick of sense had put their prized automobiles on high ground to ride out the worst of the weather. Unfortunately, not everybody got the memo, and we’ve seen more than a few pictures of swamped rides ruined by Irene.
Mustang Evolution came across this unfortunate photo of a rare ROUSH Mustang sinking in the parking lot, just a few feet from dry land. Why this car was abandoned to the rising waters, we don’t know…but that’s attrition for you.
This picture is reportedly out of North Carolina, and what exactly happened here, we couldn’t tell you. Judging from the picture though, a low-lying parking lot next to a major road was quickly flooded, leaving the owner of this Mustang no chance to save their car. Judging from the pictures, the car was just a few feet from higher ground, where it may have been saved.
Alas, flood damage all but totals a car, and even though the hood appears to be above water, damaged electronics and a washed out interior would make this car a nightmare to restore. Not that it couldn’t be done…but if they
do find a new owner for this sunken ROUSH, they’re going to have their work cut out for them.
