The small end of the rod needs to be heated in a rod oven, or torch. The pin bore will grow enough to press the pin in. BUT... you better be quick, and get it to stop where you need it, you have very little time before the small end of the rod cools and shrinks back to clamp down on the wrist pin. best left to a shop to do.
please do not atempt this at home. there are reasons shops get paid to do that kind of stuff. do not take a torch to the rod and try to heat them up you will destroy a set of rods. you need either a rod oven or a pin press.
To clarify, the torch I was referring to was the "rod oven" that uses flames to heat the small end, the other is an electric rod oven. Either way, not recommended for DIY.
