came across this forum randomly and decided to join up. I live in manhattan but am currently working on a 69 mustang convertible housed at my parent's house in Suffolk.
Right now it's in the metal work stage. I've replaced the driver's front framerail, patched the passenger framerail, replaced both shock towers and inner fender panels. Still need to finish up the driver's torque box, driver's floor pan frame support, and front cowl area on the passenger side due prior collision damage. Then on to the good stuff like notching the brand new shock towers to allow the 4.6 dohc to fit, rewiring the whole car with an 18 circuit EZ wire harness, install and tune the Accel Gen 7 DFI system, figure out the whole suspension/steering, etc. Right now, I'm hoping to get the metal work finished up and the car on the ground with the engine/transmission installed within the next few months. It's a PITA since I have to travel out to LI for a day or two here and there whenever I can. But hey, these things are never easy.
Anyhow, just wanted to introduce myself and the current car. Oh, and I've had a few other mustangs over the years including a 87 convertible with a 5.0/T-5 swap, 99 cobra IRS, 03 cobra front lower control arms, 94 gt spindles with 13" cobra brakes, sn95 R&P, full length frame connectors, etc that I beat the crap out of on the autoX course for a while. Had an 05 V6 convertible too... but all that had was GT mufflers and rear bumper swapped on.
