Hey guys, Really quick, Before I order a new heater box. How does the heat work. I read the manual. There is no switch that turns heat on or (68 mustang coupe 289.) The switches are just cables that move doors open or closed, as I read. And as you already know. This leads me to believe that the blower motor always stays on, and that the heater core always stays hot. Is this true. I just want to make sure wiring works before I try to do the heat myself. The fan speed switch on your controler works the fan,so the fan is not always turned on.As far as the heater core itself on earlier cars that stays hot all of the time but it doesn't flow into the pass compartment because the doors inside the heater box keep the hot air from flowing or keep it flowing depending on whether the heat is turned on or not. Now for your particular car it may or may not have what's called a heat control valve? This would be under the hood of your car and installed in one of your heater hoses,This valve allows or stops the flow of hot water into the heater core.This is a cable controled piece.
P.S. You and I talked about a new heater box,It's not worth it for me to get one for you.That deal that you saw is hard to beat depending on shipping .
