h or x pipe

im looking to find a off road h or x pipe for my 04 gt and i was wondering if there is any difference in sound between the two can someone help out please

H pipe is more deeper and an x is more raspy and higher pitched. IMO h pipes sound better on push rod motors and x pipes sound better on modular motors.

I like x pipes generally on Modular motors, not to say that it can't sound awesome switched around.

X will sound as if the motor is spinning faster, its a more exotic sound with a lot of mid to high range snarl, H is a more traditional sound with a more deep low growl.

I say Prochamber FTW.. I have had an X and an H and I currently have a prochamber and I love it!!

I just ordered the pypes o/r x to go along with my loudmouth 1 catback. H pipe is more of a deep muscle sound, whereas X pipes are more raspy like loudmouths are compared to sumthing like flowmasters as a catback. Also, x pipes add a little more horses than h pipes because of the bends in the pipes.

hahahah, thats sounds incredible but its too loud for me, the mic in the camera cant handle the volume, imagine your ear drums after 2 hours of that, does sound wicked though

Sarge: an X pipe has better scavanging abilities, it helps suck the fumes out from the combustion chamber in a more efficient manner than an H could, it was developed in racing because the lil bit made the difference. The older style Push rod motors gained a lot more from this scavanging but not as much on todays modular motors do.

I personally prefer the sound of an H-Pipe over an X-Pipe only because an H sounds a lot deeper while an X will sound raspy. An X might gain a few more HP (and I mean a few), but I went w/ the H because of the sound. only my though, doesn't mean it's right.
