Going rate for Mustang?

What does everyone think a 92 GT hatch is worth.I know theres a lot of variables but I am seriously thinking about selling my car.Its in perfect shape,from California never seen snow and has always been garaged.I totally rebuilt the engine with too many mods too list,my finger would be sore from typing.Ive done everything to it.I just dont know how much too ask.It really is a nice car!

Well I would ask what you think you could get for it, not adding up all the parts and stuff but just an estimate that you think might be a bit high. If someone is interested then, you can always go down in price but not up, lol. If you are not in too much of a hurry set it at one price and see what happens, then lower it if nothing comes of it. I can't really tell how much stuff is done to it, but you can look at other foxes for sale on the internet and base it off of them. If it has a good h/c/i, some kind of gears better than stock (3.73s etc.), interior is clean needs nothing, suspension mods, and doesn't need any kind of bodywork, then I would say you could get something around 6000 to 7000 for it. This probably seems low to you, but you will never get as much out of it as you put into it. Then again, I have no idea what all is done to it...

I was thinking around 7-8k,8k being the high side.The interior is perfect,headliner tight as could be,no rips or wear at all on the seats and no body work needs to be done.3 73 gears and Bear brakes .I think 8k is fair and thats what I really feel its worth.Now I have to figure where is the best place is to list it.Thanks for the input.

Either wantaddigest.com or craigslist... I would say with the want ad digest you won't get all the spam, but you might not have as many hits as you would on craigslist.

Not to be a dick but I really think its worth more especially to the right person.I cant imagine a mustang in much better shape.

How many miles? What color is the body and the interior? A low mile, black, white or red car with a black interior will command a premium.

From what I've seen recently, foxbodys are priced as follows:

Notch > Hatch > GT

You have just posted a link to a bone stock, all origional mint as hell car. Being modified and clean will bring nothing compared to an all origional low mileage stock car. By doing things to your car you have just reduced the number of people that would be willing to pay top dollar for it, no matter how clean it is. I would pay $8,000 for an all origional car but would cut that in half if the motor had been out of it for any reason.

I have to agree that foxes aren't bringing top dollar right now especially since its almost fall. Take it from a guy who just sold a pretty nice low mile rag top for 5k. I've seen time and time again bone stock survivors go for good money to collectors. I hope the people who are paying that money are buying the cars for the enjoyment of them and not as investments, they'll never get their money back. The only modified cars that are getting 7-8k are the ones with superchargers on them. Not seeing you car in person I would probably say you could get 6500 in the spring.

+1...Agreed...How many of those modified mustangs are still for sale? They aren't going quick...The same mustangs have been on craigslist for months....I don't want to buy a modded car...I want to mod it myself as would most people who are looking for this type of car...If you can get that kind of money for your fox...Thats great

I do agree that a bone stock Mustang will prob be worth more.But then again someone might be looking for a car with certain mods so they wont have to do them there selves.And I also think that there are certain mods that will be less desireable.In the end sady I know I wont get all I have invested.But thats the hobby of hot rodding.

I keep a pretty close eye on the Mustang market and as others have mentioned the lower the miles and the closer it is to stock the better. Something else I have noticed as well with the Foxes is stick versus auto,Sticks bring better money.I recently purchased a loaded 88 5.0 lx vert with 42,000 original miles for my folks. I was able to get the car for $3200 because it was an auto.That said what is the mileage on your particular car and what "mods" have been done to it? Aside from websites like this one another place to advertise your car would be on Ebay. I love craigslist (I have multiple ads running on there as we speak)but for a car of your era you're probably going to get swamped with people looking to do crazy lowball trades and such,but it is free so you could always give it a shot.Best of luck on the sale.
