Gears in Syracuse

I want to put in some 4.10's(2008 gt) but the install quotes I'm getting are 6-800 bucks for the labor, seems kinda high. Anyone know of a good place around Syr?

I don't know of any...I'd say you should come to MM here on LI, Joe will offer a better, competitive price....and I believe the gas spent on the trip, plus the install will still be cheaper than the price the Syracuse shop is offering!

I am in Utica, NY and I recently had 3.73s put in my 2008 GT at my local Ford dealer(Steet-Ponte Ford in Yorkville). I supplied the parts and they ended up charging me about $350 for the installation and gear oil. I didn't think that was too bad. Check with Ford dealers in Syracuse. I have heard that some will not do it. If you can't find one in Syracuse, Utica is only about an hour away.

wow, that a great price ,My Ford Dealers wont even touch it for under 900

If you don't mind a 45 minute trip East, I just had Professional Transmission in Marcy, NY install 4.10's in my 07 GT. The cost was around $750.00, the gears were included. They ordered the Ford Racing gears for me as well as the install kit. Call and talk to Rick Morris at 738-1412. Tell him Joe from Sunrise sent you. I am kicking myself for not doing this sooner!

No offense but that is still a bit high. For this area(upstate) a decent deal is 200-300 for an installation. You paid about 250 for parts so 500 for labor is not that good of a deal. If you like it that is all that matters but if you have to do it again then you are better off searching for a cheaper place.
