fuel pump wont turn off

my fuel pump stays on if i leave the key foward w/o starting it it just stays on what could it be?

I would start by checking the relay, might be sticking. If it checks out ok, you might be having problems with the computer.

yea 3-5 seconds is normal not shutting off isnt lol

Trace the wire for the PCM for the fuel pump prime ground. The PCM might be faulty

Maybe your car really likes gas?:idk: lol It sounds like a faults relay like maximumrisk said, it's the one under the drivers seat.

did you ever fix this prob. i have a similar prob. accept mines does not shut off even when i shut the car off and key is out. i pull the relay and it shuts off. what sux is that i went to pepboys to get one and they don't even have n e thing that looks like it mines is black and green they only had a black one which still didn't fit and i even went to ford but of course they don't make it n e more, or so they say. let me know i'm curious to hear if replacing the relay fixed your problem.

looking at the link you posted for lmr. and if the prongs are like that inside the relay then its def. not the one i have mines looks like this

never fixed it but it does go off when i take the key out
