So seeing as how I'm a new member and I plan on joining you with my car this spring at the car shows I figured I would leave it up to you much older:p and wiser members. My 73 mach 1 with a 351 2v needs a complete new exhaust. If you where going to pick out an exhaust what would you do. This could use the stock headers or get new ones whatever you think. I'm looking for a nice deeepp lobey sound. Best design I will buy the parts and install them before the first show:headbang:.

I like the long tube headers followed by a h or x pipe, just cause of increase of performance and sound. Mufflers i'm not sure of, not a big fan of flowmaster.

Pat, how original do you want to keep the car? despite originality, I would go with duals at least, but that depends on if you want to do headers and such

When I had my 68 GT Coupe I ran long tube headders with an "H" pipe & just two glasspacks & then tail pipes out the back. Nice throaty idle & when you got on it, it sounded great & all the sound was out the back not under the car. That is what I am going to do with my 69 Coupe.

Longtubes, 2 1/2" piping, H-pipe crossover, and dynomax mufflers.

Sounds good to me!

Deffinitly 2.5 inch duals because 3 inch duals would kill your back pressure and power. Go with a balance pipe or 'h' pipe to create equal pressure threw the whole system and mufflers i couldnt help you since I don't run any

I think I am going to go with dynomax longtube headers to a 2.5" x-pipe to 2.5"in 3"out glasspack mufflers that terminate out the sides in front of the rear wheels.

Thoughts? I have done similar systems like this on 302's before and never had back pressure issues.
