Hi guys finally pulled the trigger on a mystic, hopefully. Will be worried 'til it sits in my drive, cuz if it was raining soup i'd have a fork. Anyway I thought I'd get some opinions while I'm on the road back. This car is in Mi where the rules are different (nonexistent?). I know so far it has no cats, offroad x. It also has a 6 spd which changes the game some.
I guess what I need to know is how much can I get away with inspection wise?Have a friendly visual inspector but I know he can only let so much slide.

Your only issue will be the emmissions.. Do you hve MIL's? If you can pass the computer test your friend can let it slide and no one is the wiser.

you wont pass a visual inspection in ny, i would say go with some Pypes high flow cats. i got them on mine, no CEL and will pass insp. plus the sound is awesome.

Having no cats is against the law no matter what state your in. If it came with them from the factory it needs to keep them. Not that I have them but I just thought I would spit that out.

Yeah Cali is very strict where the amount of cats that are on the car from the factory must be on the car, but here in NY you can get away with 2, I highly suggest the Pypes Cats man, for having cats my car is loud.

Thanks for the help now that I actually have the car I have more information. I talked to a guy from pypes at syracuse, he said what you guys said, the cats make little diff. I wondered because this car has a 6 speed would weld in cats be better. I know pypes makes a 6spd setup, expect its costly huh? To me they aren't really a big deal. Got plenty of horses losing a couple won't matter. Will a retune be needed after installation?
As far as the check engine light apparently the tune turned them off. So will the computer read good?
I know, pictures, info as soon as I can. This car is the best money I've ever spent. Having a blast even with the speeder in ohio.
