Dave's 88GT 2012 Build
I figured i would start a thread to show what i have been doing with the car. I broke an axel in the last MOMS race last year and it turned into a entire new car build.
We started by dropping the rear axel, replacing the axels with 31 spline Moser axels and c-clip eliminators. We then moved up to the tranny, took out the T5 5-speed and will be putting in a PA C4 tranny rated to 1100 horse, tranny cooler and all new braided lines, took the 3.73 Ford Racing gears out and replaced them with Motive 3.55 gears for a little better street use. With the old 306, that came out and a new 331 stroker is going in, the 331 has Probe forged pistons, Scat forged rods and crank, Comp roller rockers, AFR 185cc heads that were ported out, Vic Jr ported intake with a 650 Qucikfuel race carb, MSD 6AL ignition and MSD pro billet distributor. the engine was built by a well known racer and builder here in NY. New QA1 tubular k-member, Lakewood 50/50 drag strut's and Eibach pro launch drag springs for the front suspension. New 8-point cage has just been installed with all new sub frame connectors. NOS nitrous Super power shot nitrous system running 150 jets, 100 to start out with. Hoping to get into the mid to low 10's this year with the car and new build. New Harwood 4" cowl hood, engine bay is getting a mack over also, we just painted the bay and added new Scott Rod panels to clean it up. Here are some pics of the build so far, will be adding more as the build goes forward.
