ponyboy289 where in the swaps were you? We hid out in building y for the friday storm after i ran up to shut my hood. I don't think Ive ever seen it rain that hard.

I was over in the black mustang section by the grandstands at least this year we didn't have our own private lake or manger scene with all the hay for the mud.

Hey,
My friends and I rented vending spots K126,127,128, & 129. So I was hanging out down in that area mostly.Although I did take off and scour the swap meet primarily looking for stuff for my current projects. Late Friday night when the crap was really hitting,I was hanging out in the concession area sitting at the tables with a bunch of other soaking wet people talking Fords. Unfortunately I was soo played by the weather that by Saturday Morning, I was done. I had prepared to stay until Sunday and take in more of the show,but oh well. There's always next year the spots are already booked so I'm in,I figure the weather can't get any worse.

Next year I am planning on registering New York Mustangs, getting a club tent and making a weekend out of it. I couldn't go this year due to our show this coming Saturday, but next year I'm 100% in :D :D :ilovenym:

I had a great time this year. This was my 16th year in a row there. I grew up about 30 mins south of Carlisle, and while I miss being close, I will never be too far to make it to the All Ford Nationals!

Here is to next year! :headbang:

Yeah next year we will register for this earlier and then we can try and get a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn in Mechanicsburg and get a bit better organized so we have our own tent and what not.

also, for those of you who can make it, friday morning is the Pony Cruise. We gather at CJ Pony parts in Harrisburg and cruise to a location near carlisle for a picnic or some other get together.

This year there were over 125 Mustangs in line for the cruise which is usually 1.5 -2 hours through the windy back roads of PA. Great time!

Lol I tried back on Jan 3 and people laughed at it being 151 days away o well at least we got some people there to see how cool it is. I know at the holiday inn there were 4 mustang clubs staying there they had a brew and beef deal going for them on friday night. If we want a group of rooms together better look into it soon. Thursady nite was lots of room but i know people were having problems getting friday sat. Think bad pony club rate was 131 I paid 126?. It is also the weekend of the street rod nationals east up in york pa not that far away about 4000 rods so hotels fill up fast.

I have all the info about a free tent back in this thread somewhere, think its likw $150 to rent your own if you dont have enough reg and once you have enough one year the next you are guaranteed a tent. Good luck on organizing next year would love to help but June is just to crazy a month for me. Hope to make it to the cruise sat but after taking 400 kids to a water amuze park on friday might just sleep in.

Yeah next year we will deffinatly be getting some rooms together which means we need to register in what like February, March??

Umm anyone wondering about the judging like me... I emailed them and I'll show u what they described it as. Basically peoples choice." Winner selection at Ford is a peer selection process known as "Participant Judging" and does not use a formal judging sheet. If you remember when you picked up your Goody Bag you were offered two ballots. One for Mustangs and one for all other vehicles. You could have taken either one or both. You could then select your favorite cars from the entire show or just the classes you preferred to "judge"."

Yup, Basically if your car stands out more to the public or people who brought cars , you win, Its not about how true to stock ,or how you match your catergory you entered , or how clean to a point, Its many times a popularity contest, (Clubs helping each other out) etc etc:thumbsdown:

Its more about the journey and the experience than the trophy in the end build your car the way you want and who cares if you get a trophy, if they are really that important we could make up our own club trophies and give them out would be cooler than some gold painted hot wheels on top of an old bowling trophy anyway.

have to always remember its not always about the trophy...make some memories, and spend some time with people that have quality in them...a trophy can be broken, lost, faded...a memory of great times spent with people lasts forever.....just my $0.02..
