I really can't catch a break. For some reason the bolt hole used to hold the cam sprocket to the cam is bigger so the stock bolt will not work! The crank bolt which is a little bigger than the cam bolts fits perfectly but EVERYWHERE I went today they didn't have it because its a pretty uncommon bolt M12x1.5x48mm soooo I had to order 2 crank bolts from Ford and maybe it will be here monday. What sucks is that I leave on thursday for training for a couple weeks then come back for a couple weeks, leave again, come home, get to come back to NY for a couple weeks then gone again for a month and a half for more training.

I just have no luck.

Forget it, I give up!

Jim (the owner of Cushman Motorsports) said there would be no PTV issue, well guess what? There is! I am super pissed. I have an email from him saying there would be no PTV issue.

Theres 2 options that I see. 1: send me a thicker head gasket and hope that works and 2: send me aftermarket valves that will work.

I don't think I should have to pay for something that I was told would work. The valves are another $141 for intake valves and $141 for exhaust valves or a gasket which is $113 for each head.

If you're going to change your valves, I think you only have to do the intake. There's no issues with the exhaust. Here's a link to some good info ... ModularHeadShop 2V Cams FAQ. I keep seeing this shop mentioned for buying cams, seems like they've done their homework. Maybe you could contact them with your cam specs and they could recommend something. I know PVC was my biggest fear when I did my heads.

Yeah I have also read about just the Intake valves being an issue, but I am pissed that the owner said there would be no PTV issue and now I have to spend ANOTHER $141 on valves. I think if they stand behind their product they should send me them! Not to mention now my car won't be done until June sometime because I leave for training.

Sorry your having this issue. it sucks when you tried to make sure it wasnt a problem in the 1st place.

They should get you the right valves & even reimburse you for your troubles.

Finally I finished the install and guess what? more PTV issue's, I think I may be a tooth off on the passenger side head so I am going to take it apart real quick and check the timing even though I checked it several times. Thats the only thing I can think of because the drivers side head doesn't hit.

I have a video I will send a link to my you tube account for the video, you can hear the valves hitting the pistons pretty good so I only let it run for about 40 seconds but she sounded good for those 40 seconds lol

Yeah but yet again I have to leave for more field training so it will be another 2 weeks. Love all this being away before a deployment.

I don't get it! I rechecked the timing AGAIN and I am still getting some ticking sounds that I believe is the pistons hitting the valves. Every where I read people run the stage 3 cams with no problems so why am I having issues? Can anyone give me some input? The timing is fine, turn over by hand and I don't get any clearance issues but when it starts you hear the ticking sound.

Could it be really noisy lifters, springs, rockers that I am hearing? I just don't understand!

I will upload another video and maybe someone could tell me?

Sameee thing, after taking apart and rechecking everything. WTF!

It sounds to be mis fire in there pretty bad. DO a compression test. I think that if the pistons hit the valves it would only happen once, then the pistons and valves would be damaged. Not too knowegible in your motor but i know if a valve hits the piston your F*&ked... GL man.

I guess I could try that, it doesn't hesitate though and I am assuming the same thing... once a piston hits the valve the valve would break but they didn't cause i checked when i took it apart.

Could it just be really noisy valve train? Like the valves coming back into the head slapping really loud cause of the big cam?

Hope things work out for you...the cam sounds MEAN ...wish my car could handle the cam without blowing her up...guess im just going to have to buiild her n cam it.

Had it towed over to a local shop called The Mustang Shop.... really good guys, thats where I did my dyno runs. They said they will dig into it and tell me whats going on with her and have it done quickly. Should know by tomorrow whats wrong with it.
