Hey guys/gals just thought i would share with you my exhaust story .2011 5.0 first used hush power wasn't for me to glass pack like,second american thunder classic mustang sound like my first 5.0 1986 good sound but still to quite (these cars are much more insulated)So i then about 2 months ago added the boss h-pipe with side exhaust (open)sounds like a race car but when cruzin still quiet sounds great.very easy install :awesomework:

I just picked up my new 2011 GT/CS last Friday and I am very disappointed in the exhaust. My '89 5.0 with Flows yells and the '08 GT with SLP Loudmouths screams but I can't seam to find an exhaust that has a muscle car tone for the new 5.0.

Where did you get the Boss h-pipe from?

HEY, NICE FLEET AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR 5.0 ,YEA THE CARS ARE SO INSULATED HARD TO HEAR ANYTHING ,I GUESS THATS A GOOD THING I TRIED HUSHPOWER NG SWITCHED TO GOOD OLD AMERICAN THUNDER SOODS GOOD ,BUT STILL QUIET INSIDE SOOO I BOUGHT THE BOSS H-PIPE AND SIDE EXITS RIGHT FROM FORD (I WAS THE PARTS MANAGER)NOW UNCORKED IT SOUNDS LIKE A RACE CAR WHEN YOUR ON IT BUT GOOD WHEN JUST CRUZIN ,HOPE THIS HELPS ALSO DON'T GO BY THOSE SILLY CLIPS ON LINE THEY SUCK :headbang:

I really want to buy the boss 302 setup, I just wish a vendor sold the setup as a kit. The reason I say that is because ford wants 600 for the boss 302 setup. Maybe it will be cheaper from a vendor much like the gt500 mufflers are 260 a side from ford and only 259 for the pair online

I plan to have stainless steel side exhaust pipes with the tips protruding just in front of the rear wheels on my 2011 5.0 GT Coupe. Taps into the stock system will be in front of the cats like the Boss 302, but the pipes will run underneath the car just inboard of the body side moldings. Each pipe will have an "OPEN" - "CLOSE" electric valve so I can run wide open pipes at will. The stock exhaust system will remain intact.

In my younger days we had "Lakes Pipes" to run wide open exhaust, but they are a pain because they have cover plates like the Boss302 that need removal. There's no way I am putting my senior bones on the road to open the pipes, so like the new Corvette, my system will have electric valves.

The new 4.6L and 5.0L engines will not sound anything like the push rod engines of the past. There is no equal in sound for a Ford Flathead with Smitty's or Cherry Bombs.

You jguys know that you could just put in some electric cut outs for half the cost of the Boss pipe and have it loud or quiet at the flip of a switch.

The new BOSS comes with the flip of the switch exhaust i believe. Why not just spent the extra 20k and get the boss? LOL I know where you can get a bn set of American Racing Headers and x pipe.... :evil:
