Grettings All:
I am in the Southern Tier of NY and several months ago fulfilled a life long fantasy of owning a Mustang GT convertible, my wife and I are the proud owners of a White with a black top and Charcoal leather interior 2009 45th Anniversary edition GT.
As long as I am in the group, I would be interested in hearing comments about the groups feelings for getting a little more giddy up out of our '09, I have heard everything from replacing rear end gears to shorty headers to bigger throttle bodies, but the question remains, what is the best combination? I was thinking of shorty headers, K & N airbox and going from the factory 3.31's to 3.55's in the rear- Comments??????

Gears are the cheapest way to feel a big difference. I would choose 3.73's over the 3.55's.

After that a CAI, ud pulley, & a SCT tuner.

Welcome to :nym:!! I would start off with 3.73 gears which would make you pull harder off the line. Then I would go with a CAI and you can find better ones then K&N such as C&L , throttle bodies don't really give you that much of a gain on the S197, new intake manifolds occasionally give you some extra HP but not all that much from what I hear, I would go with Cams as well Brenspeed is making a new cam called the Detroit Rocker and supposedly it is consistently giving you a 20-30hp or you can go with Ford Racings Hot Rod cams, they are tried and true while the Brenspeed ones are fairly new on the market. Then you can go with new heads as well if you would like. As far as the exhaust the stock exhaust breathes fairly well as is so I would just go for sound more then adding some extra HP. I would look around youtube for an exhaust setup you and your wife think sounds good. Also for a tuner I know that Chris Rose is now working with American Muscle.com writing their tunes and I don't know much about which tuner is the better one. I would look at this kit and its fairly cheap and gives some good performance.

Welcome aboard.
Forget the throttle body and shorty headers. Get yourself a cold air kit with a 93 octane tune along with a set of 410 gears . Your tires will never forgive you.
