Best Intake for AFR 165cc

I am in the middle of purchasing a pair of AFR 165cc, and would like to know the best available intake manifold for this setup.
I am not too particularly fond of Edelbrock Performer RPM, since there is a drop in low end torque. I would rather the regular Edelbrock or even the GT40 tubular. Any recommendations?

Maybe the Victor Jr. Do you have the newest AFR catelog?

The Victor Jr. Is designed for a larger CID block and for higher RPMs? What is the ideal rpm for that intake? I want the best performing intake manifold for rpm ranging from idle to 5500. It is likely that I would port the lower manifold.

Wait, just to clarify, the car is a fuel injected setup. It will not be a forced induction motor. The car is meant for daily driving with occasional drag racing.

Systemax intake, performer rpm, and trick flow are all great intake's if its more of a dd and a weekend toy and don't want to break the bank just find a cheep gt40 intake to slap on.

When I was fuel injected I was looking at the bbk intakes did you check them out?

I have not checked the BBK SSI. The intake decision was at first grounded on obtaining the most horsepower, but I do not want to sacrifice torque. I do not mind spending a little extra cash if I can have the best of both worlds. I might purchase the Edelbrock manifold and then have the lower ported.

I honestly have the Performer RPM II and I love it!! The Holley Systemax is nice as well as Trick Flow.. Its pretty much your pref

Strongstang, what sort of setup do you have as far as cylinder heads and camshaft? How does your lower RPM band feel? What is your shift point?

AFR Heads / Custom ground cam, got them both from Camshaft Innovations.

I have a 306. AFR 165's and a custom ground cam from Camshaft Innovations. I love it, its a great setup. I shift at 5700 - 6000 and it slams!!!

I used to have a Systemax and it is a nice intake. The Edelbrock Performer and Performer RPM work well too. I have just a Cobra intake now. You could get a Cobra/GT 40 and get the lower ported and make some nice power with alot of lowend.

I agree.Get your self a cobra/gt40 and send it to Tmoss and have it ported,for what your looking for that would be your best option.

I had a unported cobra in take with a stock 60 mm TB and it still got me 11.00's with boost and a stock block....

cant beat it for the $$$$$$

Edelbrock rpm is a nice match for afr 165's.
