another q..lol...if i do a trickflow top end kit...will i need a custom tune?

im guessing yes...my question is i live about an 1hr north or kingston and the closest place i found is mustang magic which is a little over 3hrs away from me...i was going to have my mechanic install my top end kit in the spring...will i be able to drive it there or will i have to trailer it? here is what im thinking for my new setup but i want to make sure it will run right after its all done and tuned etc...dont want to be hunting for surging idles etc if i dont have to...

Unless you are running a turbo or SC you wont need a custom tune. Make sure to get the right plugs like autolite or accel plugs. And get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator so you could bump up the FP from stock. And if he is a good mechanic he could also bump up the timing.

If the car is done right by your mechanic and he tunes it once finished there should not be a problem.

There are places in jersey and connecticut that can do the tune, no need to go all the way out on the island...

You can drive it like that, its just gonna run like shit, wouldn't blow up or anything as long as all your baselines are set properly.

actually im thinking of doing the job myself if possible...since its all new parts it should be pretty simple install with basic hand tools right? if i need to borrow a specialty tool i can from my friend...i want to re-paint the engine bay and hide wires while im in there...plus i would really like to sell my current setup to get some money to help pay for my new parts...is there a book i can get that would help me with understanding what this will take to do? i have the chilton's manual which ive read through to get a basic idea...since the kit is pre-matched i shouldn't really have to worry about ptv clearances etc right?

thanks again guys...and by right plugs you mean new spark plugs i assume?
