American Thunders or Bassani

I plan on buying flowmasters american thunders or bassani axleback for my mustang. I dont think I will do an x pipe just the axleback. Anyone have either of these just want some feedback.

I have the Flowmaster American Thunders on my 08 GT and I like them. They are much louder than the stock exhaust when you get on it but, not too loud when cruising on the hiway at 70 mph. Just right 4 me.

I have not heard the Bassani so I can't comment on them.

Ive always loved the Sound of Flowmaster's, they sound different on the 05+ than previous Stangs but its still a great sound, throaty and aggressive. They are not Too loud like SLP LM's but the chambered design makes them drone a lot around 70 mph in 5th gear, so you either have to drive slower or faster or get back into 4th gear.

Bassani is nice because they are shiney stainless steel but they are More expensive, however i do preffer the sound of Flows to most other axle backs for 05+ unless you run an Off Road mid pipe, chambered mufflers tend to get very raspy.

I too have the American Thunders, love em, deep not raspy. Do not buy the new square style flows, get the A.T's.

Flowmasters will not sound good if you plan to do any exhaust mods... I used to have them..

I have a CAI/Tune with Flows and a Catted X-Pipe, it sounds great!

I think Flows DO sound good with Exhuast mods so long as you have Cats.

+1, i knew i wanted Flows even before i bought the Mustang but theres also a lot of great sounding exhuasst out there, especially for the S197. I literally spent hours listening to clips on Youtube, its fun.

Yeah Ive been on youtube watching tons of videos and I think I want the flows. bassani is nice too more expensive but probably better. Saw a few people complain about the flows. anyone else have any problems with flowmasters.

I had the flows on my 2008, sounded good just not loud enough for me. I still have them and willing to sell them cheap. I had them on my car for about 4000 miles. If intrested pm me with an offer.

Becareful they do rust out fast... I would look on other forums classifields before buying from summit... They do not sound great once you start doing Lang tubes and more exhaust modifications and alot of guys sell them.... I know when I was selling mine there was like 4-5 more guys selling them on the same forum...
It is all personal preference but I have found flowmaster to be more for the leasure modder...

I am more of a deeper tone type of guy though...
