A few questions?

1: My speedo tends to skip while driving anything over 70mph. Any idea's why it might do that? Should i be concerned about it?
2: How many rpms do your v6 mustangs run at 85-90mph? Mine runs around 2700rpms. I was just woundering if i could figure out my gears in the rearend of the car this way. I also noticed that at 2000rpms i am running between 70-75mph so it is weird. I believe the car is so high geared that is the reason for lack of power?

1 sounds like your speed sensor is going
2 no u cnt because depending on throttle and gear(tranny that is) your rpm changes..u can eighter open her up or jus do a lil search and find out..n fyi stock sixxers came with
96 v6 2.73
in 96 they gave the option of 3.08 also
in the 99-04 v6 most likely 2.73

1- most likely the speed sensor.
2- depends on if you are auto or manual. at 2krpm, I am running just under 70mph. a manual will be running a bit faster, between 70-75. but a slipping clutch or stall could be the culprit. I havent cruised at 85-90 enough to know exactly where it would be there.

As for gearing, crawl under and check the tag on your rearend. from 99-04, the following gears were to be had:

-3.55: found in 03-04 mach 1 and Cobra models
-3.27: found in ALL 99-04 V6's, bullitts, 99-01 cobras, and majority of GTs.
-3.08: found in early 99-00 GTs. Ive onl.y heard of 7 or 8 with these, so not sure. havent found any hard data. never seen a V6 with them.
-2.73: ONLY FOUND IN SELECT 1999 AUTO GT's. your car will not have these.
