96-98 Catback vs 99-04 Catback?

Other than an extra hanger near the rear of the mufflers on the 99-04 cat backs, is there really any difference? Like are the bends different, or pretty much the same? Because to me they look the same. And both are 2 1/4 in. stock and 2 1/2 in. aftermarket. So they should fit both right? Or what's the deal? Thanks. Only reason I ask is because Borla never made a Stinger kit for the 96-98's. The tips I think would be the only real issue.

Hangers near the tip have a 90* difference. Also I found that the 99-04 kits are a little longer

I knew about the hangers. Longer though? The cars are pretty much the same size though. Tips might be longer due to the bumper cutouts.

Either way its not too big of a deal. I'd like Stingers, but if not I'll just get the SLP's as originally planned with a Bassani O/R X. Still unsure of why Borla ditched out on making a kit for us SN95 guys.

tips are longer on newer ones due to the bumper- I have 97 over the axle pipes on my 02, and the tips barely reach the bumper.

Yea I'll see what price I can find on a used cat back and if cheap enough I'll snag it up, otherwise SLP is fine. Those are 2 companies I have faith in their quality. Too many exhaust companies shit is cheaply built, and have fitment issues. Bassani is great too though. I'm going with their X.
