91 Brake lights Help

Just installed new Front Brake pads and Rotars..

I have had alittle trouble with the button on the shift lever of the auto tranny it wont go in. Now it wont at all, Just realized my brake lights are out?

Does anyone have a fuse panels diagram so I can check my brake light fuse? and any other suggestions?

found the fuse number 1 looks ok any ideas why my brakes lights are out? they were fine until i changed the front brakes today

i doubt it .....check your bulbs maybe ......i dont know :smash:

The blubs are good.
the Fuse is good.

There is only one fuse for the brakes correct?

The only thing left is the Brake light Saftey switch?

The brake lights are both out and I can not get the car out of Park. This happend once in my Explorer and it was the Brake light switch. Just it was a nightmare to change so I want to make sure there aren't any other ideas before i switch it out

Take socket out of housing,wedge something between the seat and brake pedal, check socket with test light.

If it lights up, bulb shit the bed. If not, check the brake switch.

But first check the fuse with a test light, sometimes they look good, but are actually crapped out.

As for the button on the auto handle, I would take it off and check to make sure it is aligned properly, I think there was a notch or something. Can't remember.

Does your car have the tranny safety switch?? As in, when you press the brake, the shifter clicks and releases the button. If so, check that.

Is there a way to test the brake switch w a test light?

When it goes bad it stops the car from going into park correct?

Coming out of park. Yes. I can guess here, but I would open the center console and get to the harness and test it there.
