9 inch rear

I have an 8 inch rear on my 68 fastback with 3.00 gears and want to go to a 9inch. Any suggestions? Find an old one and rebuild it.? Buy new?

Hi,
Personally because I'm cheap,LOL. I'd try to locate and clean up/rebuild an original. You can use one from a 67-70 they will all interchange no problem.If you look around on Ebay,craigslist,etc. They can be found and especially swap meets. Brand new units are available, so that's an option as well. Good luck.

P.S. I responded to your ad in the classifieds, if you do swap to a 9 inch,and you are selling your 8 inch,Let me know, I know someone who might be interested.

Wow great advise I was thinking the same thing. Thanks for your tip on the seats too. Love it. Should do the trick. I will let you know when my 8inch rearend is ready for sale.

I have a 8 inch and 9 inch rearend available. Onesout of a 67 and the other is out of a 69 with 3.25 factory limited slip..
