I was mixed on the show last year and inevitably decided that it wasn't worth going to this year.
Pros:
- Met Steve Saleen
- Met and took a photo with Vaughn Gittin Jr.
- Chip Foose was there, but the line in the heat wasn't worth standing in.
- Tons of cars
- Jet car was cool.
Cons:
- Heat was intense (not within their control)
- No offense to the people entered in the Exhaust contest, but in reality the cars you want to hear, knew enough not to do it, and the ones that did, didn't really stand out. I mean the entrance lines had better sounding exhausts.
- Same thing regarding the burnout contest, the drift car by all means should have won and was the only one worth watching, but I don't believe won.
- The sale tent of returned/gently used items was a zoo.
- Drag races seemed to be restricted to AM vechicles.
- Dyno was very underutilized. Don't know if there were restrictions there as well.
- Considering the amount of cars of a single brand, I would have thought there would be more vendors selling items, but there was very little to be had.
- Layout seemed to favor the raceway and vendors, rather than the car show...the reason you're there in the first place. Typically vendors are sprinked throughout the showfield or around the perimiter. The layout currently puts the car show off in a field and the vendors on the pavement. I imagine I wasn't the only one to spend little time in the show field.
- Considering the amount of cars, and the pre-regisration, you'd think they'd be able to group generations of cars together, but it was more of "find the first spot available". Bigger shows typically segregate.
- Did I mention it was hot?
For me the price isn't a big deal, but considering there was a t-shirt last year, it really evened out. I mean I've paid more for shows and have gotten nothing as well, so there's always that.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like Musclepalooza at Lebanon Valley is a little more entertaining.
