Not yet Bruce, I am off from work on Fri & will do more work & post a pic. I have not finished fabbing the patch piece for the "B" pillar. I have
to finish that piece before welding on the quarter skin.
Since it is getting cold & I can only work outside as I only have a 1 car garage I am doing small stuff over the winter that I can do on the work bench in the garage. I finally got the pieces I ordered to redo the console I picked up long ago to put in the Coupe. I installed the new console storage box & lid. I have to install the 2 rubber bumpers for the ash tray lid in the front & reinstall it in the console then all I need is the console plate that goes around the shifter, which will come next month. As soon as it is sunny I will take a pic of the console & post it. Next up blast & re-pait the dash.
Mike.
Today I finished sanding all the paint off the outside of the front valance & found 10 spots about the size of a nickel or smaller that need to be repaired, & right in the center at the top it is cracked & needs to be welded.
Mike.
Next up for my winter work is to recondition my old 68 GT wheels which were also used on 69 GT's & Mach-1's. I had them on a 68 GT Coupe until I replaced them with other wheels & never sold them. Picture on the left is what they looked like after 20 years of neglect & the one on the right is after alot of sanding & a respray. I used silver paint instead of the argent paint they were originally.
With the temps in the upper 50's when I got home from work this afternoon I just had to spend a couple hours in the garage working on the Mustang, I even had the garage door open. I removed the master cylinder so I can remove the pedal hanger to add the clutch pedal to it for the T-5 conversion.
Thanks for the nice comment on the wheels, as far as the T-5 conversion right now I am collecting parts right now. I will probably tackle that next fall. I will be sure to post pics when I get to that point. So far I have the trans, the plate that goes between the engine & the trans, the flywheel, clutch assembley, the cross memeber, & the trans mount.
Over this past weekend I finished removing the pedal hanger so I can add the clutch pedal, & power brake pedal, & I am also going to clean it up & paint it because it is not getting reinstalled looking like that.
Got a welder cart for Christmas along with some other goodies for the Coupe. Now the welder has a home along with the welding helmut & gloves. Also got a Mach-1 front spoiler for my Birthday which will go on once I finish repairing the front valance.
The l/s pic is after I sanded off all the surface rust from the pedal hanger & coating it with Mastercoat silver rust preventive paint & the r/s pic is after painting it with Rustoleum satin black paint. Now it is ready to get the cluctch pedal & the power brake pedals installed.
Hi there, I have been looking at your project progress. I also have a 69 coupe, I have had it for 35 years! First car, it is not bad, I still take it out in the summer for a trip to a car show or a cruise to the drive in.
