ok so my freind with the 82 notch is buying a 429 thunder jet is a tremec compatable with this motor and also motor mounts? do they have to be custom but it comes with the auto tranny please some tips thanx and also whats the diff between thunder and cobra jets thanx

big block fords are a waste of space, dont bother go with something 351 or 302 based. for the price you will pay to buy headers, mounts and shit for a bbf you could have a nice smallblock setup

theyre junk, they came in tbirds and other fullsize cars. theyre like 300 horse or something like that and weigh a ton. your better off finding an already done 302 or 351

429/460 motors are far from junk. I like SBF's but big block fords can make ALOT of power with stock bottom ends and blocks. This is a POS junkyard 8:1 460 he is in the 11's now

Small blocks make power but BB's are far from junk and extremely easy to make alot of power with. Takes very little to make one run. Quicktime makes a nice bell but they are expensive.

I'm not a fan of the BB's, i can make a small block faster with about as much time & money as you would put in a 460, there easy go fast motors but it really is a waste of time, money & space. Too much of a hassle.

a buddy of mine has a 460 in his 79 coupe and the car went 10.70s with a pair of stock SCJ heads with mild port work.
