Now, I don't know about that. I love the way the axle backs sound on the s197s. As a matter of fact, with the right combo I've heard some sick s197s. But, the New Edge cars were the last generation of stangs will sound true to the 65 Stangs. Forget about engines, from Carb. to fuel injection, pushrod to modular, etc. I'm talking strictly of the exhaust position, where the mufflers were centered near the middle. That position with the right muffles (flowmasters

Before the axles, towards the front of the car, front of the gas tank, not behind the axle, underneath the rear bumper (like the s-197).
Btw, one of the best set ups I've heard on an S-197 gt is with a Kooks O/R H, Kooks LT's, and Bassani mufflers (don't remember what series). Absolutely wicked.
