okay, here goes,
as you know 96-98 Mustang GTs are rated at 215-225HP
a CHEAP and very effective way to set up the HP on these motors are PI parts (99-04 Mustang 2v's)
now if you have a 99+ Mustang GREAT half the work is done!
now for the 96-98 Guys,
you basic H/C/I (STOCK PI) will put you at a base line for 235RWHP woohoo (give or take)
you will atcually make more HP since the compression of the motor gets bumped up by the heads (Pi)
now i have done PI (STOCK HEADS) and a set of Stage 1 cams, shorty BBK headers and every bolt on you can think of. this car has.
ill give you an idea how much i gained, i dynoed my car at 197RWHP and 268RWTQ (stock with gears, ebay CAI and Mac Prochamber O/R h pipe)
yeah SAD but true....
well now your asking what made me want to make more HP out of the 2v.
i raced my friend with a "STOCK" 03 GT and we where neck to neck, but he would pull away from me after 100mph. after i lost to your basically stock 3v GT Automatic i had just about had enough of losing.
so i went on corral, and other mustang sites, and bought a set of Romeo Heads off a low mileage wrecked GT. for 300.00! shipped, PI HEADS W/PI CAMS! GREAT! woohoo
but i was like since the motor is out of the car i might as well go the EXTRA mile and get a set of cams, and i did just that. i was pretty much set on VT (witch is no longer in business) (now i believe they are called CMS?) i found a set of cams that are stage 1 and i bought them for 600! whoa they cost more then my heads did...but i wanted all i could get out of the car. anyway installed 24lbs injectors and a Pro M with a Denschager CAI, 78MM BBK TB, BBK headers. Steeda u/D pulleys. and intake spacer,9mm Spark plug wires, yada yada... this task wasn't EASY to do. as the timing of these motors aren't easy to do as a first timer! with that all said and done car was done and the motor was put back into the car with fresh everything! you name it i bought it.
after the car ran great, i had a nice kill list! now i took the car to a dyno in brooklyn and had it dynoed at 280rwhp and 302rwtq(something like that to the wheels)
then i started some trash talking my friends 06 GT...
This was my 280RWHP stage
now after going to the best tuner! around that i know MUSTANG MAGIC!
had the car tuned! and it made 302/318 final numbers.
