Since 2002, Mustang Week has been a staple in the Myrtle Beach area in July drawing hundreds of Mustangs and thousands of visitors for the week long celebration of Mustangs with car shows, cruises, drag racing, burn out contests and more. This year Mustang Week will have an added bonus of hosting the SVTOA (Special Vehicle Team Owners Association) "Experience IV" nationals. Having only been held three other times the SVTOA nationals will bring together SVT owners from around the country for a car show, club dinner and a track event.
Mustang Week 2009 will kick things off on Tuesday July 21st with an informal meet-n-greet at Planet Hollywood from 1-5 p.m. On Wednesday the action will head over to Myrtle Beach Speedway for some fun-runs, autocross and a burn-out contest. Thursday's events will start at Hooter's with a cruise to Darlington Dragway where the annual Drags will take place. For Friday it's the annual Mustang Week car show at Colonial Mall. The car show is open to all years of Ford Mustangs and SVT vehicles. Mustang Week closes out on Saturday with a large Mustang and SVT cruise-in at the Colonial Mall.
