After careful consideration, I have decided to put my 1997 Mustang GT up for sale. The car currently has 56,XXX miles, and I am the third owner of the vehicle. My dad purchased the vehicle from the orginal owner in October of 2007 with 39k miles. I took ownership of the vehicle in April of 2012.
The car was orginally purchased at Middlekauff Ford in Plano Texas and then followed the original owners to Oregon before making it's way out to Rochester. When the car switched to my family's ownership it was stone stock. Over the past five years the below changes were made to the vehicle.
-PI Swap (Ford Racing PI Heads/Cams and Intake Manifold) The heads came fully assembled with the cams and were pushased brand new from RV engines in Batavia, NY
-K&N Cold Air Intake
-Magnaflow Magnapack Catback
-SCT Custom Tune done by Adam at POPS Racing
-Ford Racing Bullitt/Cobra Brakes Front Brake Conversion
-Ford Racing 17x8 Bullitt Wheels
-H&R Super Sport Lowering Springs
-Ford Racing 17x8 Bullitt Wheels
-Bilistein Struts/Shocks
-Steeda Caster/Camber Plates.
-Cobra R Hood
-Smoked Headlamps/Corners
-SS Mustang GT Bumper Inserts
-FR500 Steering Wheel (Stock one was torn)
-Steeda Headlight Knob/MGW HVAC Controls
-Kenwood Head Unit
-Custom Gauge Cluster (Water Temp, Volts, Vacuum)
-1998 Mustang GT Center Consol
-Windows Tinted (35% on the sides,15% on the back) by Linday Window Tinting)
*Please Note that the engine picture below was taken before the CAI was added to the car*
The only issue I have had with the car was with the automatic transmission. The intermediate sprague snapped during this past summer. I had the transmission gone through and upgraded to stronger parts by a shop in Rochester.
The PI Swap (Power Improved) is a common swap for the 96-98 GT's. The swap utilizes the 99-04 Heads, Cams, and Intake Manifold. The swap also bumps the compression to 10.5:1 so 93 octane would need to be used at all times. The 99+ GTs make 260 HP and with the bump in compression, and the mods, this example should make 275-285 HP. I am not sure what the car would run the 1/4 since I have never ran it but should be good for high 13s.
I also have a binder full of receipts including the orginal window sticker and dealer broshure. The car has always been stored inside under a car cover during winter months. The car will come with the car cover, orginal rims as well as the orginal parts.
This car has been a lot of fun and has been my pride and joy for over the past five years. I do not have to sell the car, but would like to use the money to start saving for a house.
