    Brake Upgrade for 09' GT

So you think I only, need the fronts and I tend to agree w/ you. What is your estimate for the brake job? Would you be able to purchase the kits at cheaper price because you are a shop? While your at it what would you quote me for a cold air intake w/ a tune? I'm probably not going to do this...

    Brake Upgrade for 09' GT

It is actually embarrassing how mechanically UNinclined I am. I do make attempts around the house and way too often I make it worse and if that were to happen to my 'stang, I would not be able to forgive myself. I have thought about going to mechanic school, but the tuition is more than paying...

    Brake Upgrade for 09' GT

Now it looks like you can't buy from Brembo directly, American Muscle has the front brake pkg for $2K, but I don't find the rear brake pkg. Any suggestions on an install shop or would you suggest going to the dealer?

    Brake Upgrade for 09' GT

Hello, NY Mustangs, I own a 2009 Mustang GT and am getting near the time to do just do the regular maintenance on the brakes, so my thought was instead of just replacing it w/ stock parts use the money towards an upgrade of the brakes. Any suggestions, I have been looking at the Ford Racing...

    Swap of 4.6L for 5.0L 09' GT

I will be on the lookout see if that kit becomes available for a painless swap. It would make sense that a racing motor should be natually aspirated to survive the rigors of road racing. Still trying to figure out what realistic costs would be to that kind of conversion. I'm w/ you on the fast...

Welcome to the site. What made you pick the white? Mine is white also, just curious.

    Swap of 4.6L for 5.0L 09' GT

All your comments have been really relevant, obviously like most of us cost is a major factor but how much more do you think it would be? I like to think outside of the box on occasion because you never where it might lead you. I tend toward trying to get the best of both worlds whenever...

    Swap of 4.6L for 5.0L 09' GT

Fair points in the evaluation of the money spent. My thoughts were if the money is somewhat about the same to S/C or do an engine swap wouldn't durability of a naturally aspirated motor be better than S/C? My understanding is the biggest knock on the 4.6 mod is the quality of its internals and...

    Swap of 4.6L for 5.0L 09' GT

After a small hiatus due to the end of the school year and the beginning of my Master's thesis:nono: I return to my favorite Mustang site of all time to ask this question. Can my 4.6L engine in my 2009 GT be swapped out directly for the new 5.0L? When I mean directly, I mean no modifications...

    FRPP pkgs worth it?

Does having another shop do the work on a car really void the warranty or are they just trying to scare you into using them?

    Cold Air Intake/Chip Preferences

Alright guys thanks for the input and will post when I do this in the next couple of months. I will table gears for now but you have me thinking.

    Cold Air Intake/Chip Preferences

I have a manual trans. and stock 355 rear, not ready to go to a 373 as it is my daily driver right now, but definetly a thought in the future. Stock brakes are still good w/ these upgrades? The increase in Hp and torque should be roughly what? Loving the response to the 93 octane.

    Cold Air Intake/Chip Preferences

The check engine light is dealt w/ by the reflashing? If warranty work becomes necessary, put the stock air box and reload the stock tune before taking to the dealer, unless of course you have the dealer do it? Would changing pulleys be a smart thing to do w/ this upgrade too? Stock brakes still...

    Cold Air Intake/Chip Preferences

Put the 93 in it this morning, but it seems the best move at this point for me is to go w/ an SCT tune after talking to the guys in Ohio, as suggested, along w/ the cold air intake. Install sounds doable of the Cold Air kit but is the computer stuff just plug-in, choose and click? This is what...

    Cold Air Intake/Chip Preferences

In terms of running 87 octane, that was what I asked the dealer, and he said thats what to put in it. What does the hand held do better than the other tuner type? What would be the reasons to return it to stock tune after adding the cold air intake and the upgrade in tune? When I change the...

    Cold Air Intake/Chip Preferences

Looking for your preferences on Cold Air Intake kits and chip tuners. What is a reasonable price for equipment and installation? What should I expect in horsepower gains? Is it better to go with the higher octane settings w/ the tuner or stick w/ the 87 octane that I've been running since new...

    Build Thread! enjoy

I am thoroughly impressed by all the work you have done, especially the fabricating of brackets to meet your needs. Where did you learn to do all of this? Are you mechanic for a living? Curious as to why the GT500 injectors didn't fit. Really, looking forward to the finished project. Twin...

    Montauk Cruise * May 2, 2010 *

Re: Montauk Cruise April 25th 2010 I didn't quite think of the cruise from the angle that we need to represent the club to the public in a way that is responsible and not give ourselves a bad name or negative public image. I now completely see your point. No need for the tie and jacket for...
