    My issues might be solved.

Thanks, I'll be there. Maybe I'll pit closer to the action this time.

    My issues might be solved.

Ok, I normally don't post a lot, but today I'm pretty excited and my wife is, well shall I say, doesn't want to hear it anymore. I've been chasing around a problem with consistency with my Mustang. 306, N/A carbureted, stock bottom end, aluminum heads. Off the trailer, my first pass in the 1/4...

problems, problems, more problems! need help

Usually pinging under acceleration means too much timing. I would try to retard the timing until it goes away. You may have a issue with your distributor, or maybe a problem with with the vacuum advance.

working on C4 tranny, have a couple questions

The manual shift lever seal looks like a seal similar to the input shaft seal, or the yoke seal. It presses in from the outside of the transmission. It needs to be lubed prior to assembly. I'm trying to figure out where the pic is taken. I'm assuming that you are talking about the tail shaft...

    Which motor?

Don't let the weight of the big block make you shy away from it. With aluminum heads, intake, and water pump, your looking at 550lbs. 302's are around 450. Add in a SC, or other power adder's and the weight will be comparable, but a big block will allow you will have a n/a stock block that can...

    347 or 331 ?

Holy hell, I didn't want to start a war. All I want to do is rebuild my 302 block that I built in 1993, and still beating the snot out of today. I don't have the funds to complete the 521 big block for a while (no need for a aftermarket block, or a 351) I figured that since the 302 desperately...

    347 or 331 ?

Wow, 7500 on a stock block? I wimper a little when I bump against the rev limiter that's set a 7000. You are not the first guy I spoke to that runs them up in that range. I guess my, and traditional thoughts on the limitations of the SBF are greatly exaggerated. This is a really informational...

    347 or 331 ?

Safe isn't fun until you put ventilation holes in the block. :) If I had my way, I would be poking and stroking the 460 that's burning a hole on the concrete in my garage, but financial limitations pissed on those plans. I have a decent set of heads for the 302 right now, and with some port...

    347 or 331 ?

Thank's, I spoke to him about buying that engine at one point because I thought that I blew my engine up. Turns out that I just poped a rocker off. It made the oil pressure look strange at idle. With open headers it sounded like a rod knock. Any how, that event got me thinking about keeping and...

    347 or 331 ?

Ok, I'm torn. I'm thinking of building stroker for my drag car, and I'm looking for opinions from people with experience with stroker 5.0 based engines. As I understand it, the 331 keeps the rings slightly lower, reduces blow by, and keeps the rings out of the wrist pin. Will that matter for a...
