I believe the consecutive number in the VIN is for ALL vehicles produced by Ford that year, not just Mustangs. At least that's how it worked back when they used 11 digit VIN's. My '68 Fastback was 8T02C202478, the 202478th vehicle made by Ford that year. Funny how that VIN is still burned in my...- lonepalm
