If you follow the manual step for step then you will realize how easy it really is. it will have all the torque specs too.

there is a button in the trunk of the car. make sure it is not shut off there. On my 97 the button is just to the right side of the drivers taillight behind the carpeting. your may be right there too.

with a 3.8 and no power adder, your not destined for power. you and do H/C/I but even then I wouldn't expect to much. there are more options i'm sure. you should read about a few setups that people have.
